Kickstarter is a website filled with campaigns, where people who dont have the funds needed to make their film without any outside help can pitch the idea of their film to the public and ask for contributions towards the film in return for credits in the film and or other goods that may come with depending on the size of your contribution. Kickstarter is a great platform for anyone to use to get their chance at producing a film.

In this blog i was tasked with answering questions that where based on two videos we watched in class, on about crowdfunding and the other about enemy of man. Crowdfunding was about using kickstarter to raise £15k for a film called 'unsound' where as 'enemy of man' was a film in its self.

From this i was able to learn a lot about how many low budget films get the majority of their funding and how easy it really is to get the funds you need if you pitch your idea well enough to make people want to contribute and be a part of the project.

I will certainly be able to use this information in my future revision when revising pre production and funding of films.

Comments

  1. You've answered the questions, but most responses are lack any real detail.
Having more detail will allow you to have more information to revise from/to remind you of Crowdfunding as a financial possibility.

For revision add on a paragraph explaining what Kickstarter/Crowdfunding actually is and how it can help in pre-production.
